Something New!

My dad sent this video to me and I thought it was pretty cool and so I wanted to share it with you. It is amazing what you can do with black light. It is so inspiring to see performances like this because it allows imaginations to run wild. After watching this video, send a comment to me on your thoughts of the performance and if you have any ideas!

This One is for Nathan, who hasn't read one Yet...

Yes, sad to say -- my darling son, Nathan, has not read anything on this blog site until tonight. What is up with that? I know not! Anywhoo - I want to say "WAY TO GO" puppeteers for the amazing performance at Marine. I say that - not because it was a 'perfect' performance, but it was pretty fabulous considering we had ZERO stage rehearsals with it! Now, before everyone gets the notion that practice is not necessary or important, let me assure you ... that is not the case! Rather, we should be thinking how totally astounding it may have been if we would have had more time to rehearse!

Since I have not updated this site since our trip over the 99 hills...I will let you know that our Bethalto performance was good - notice that I didn't say astounding - but it was good. We received a gift of $200 and our host was very pleased with the show. The principal at Marine was also very pleased with our performance and she gave us a gift of $150. HOORAY!

Please know how much you are all appreciated!! I hope this ministry is as much of a blessing for you as it is for me. I pray for continued blessings from God!!

(Ok...let's see how long it will take Nathan to make a comment on this site.)

Hugs to all!

99 Totally Big Hills on Our Drive

What a fun trip home!?! We braved the 99 hills road! Perhaps we need to create a t-shirt that says: I survived the 99 hills road. (Haha)
I hope everyone had a great time performing yesterday and munching on the yummy food afterward. I was so pleased with your performance - hard work does pay off!!! Good job! To show their appreciation, a love offering was received and the collection totalled $300. That money will be used to help offset the additional costs of I-Fest. PRAISE GOD!

At Wednesday's rehearsal, we will watch the videotape of Sunday's performance, compliments of Mr. Scheuchner. After that, we will work on the Easter show again...making some minor changes that are necessary for blacklight. I am also hoping that we will be able to take some time to begin work on the show for Marine Elementary. We have two options for this show now. So, I would like your input.

Would you like to perform the show some did at Trenton Elementary on Feb. 29th called "Scenes from the Baseball Game" or would you rather do the show about Healthy choices that uses the songs from the practice CD you have? Please leave a comment on this site telling me which show you prefer and why. Ultimately, I will have to make the final decision, but I would appreciate your opinion. Afterall, I want you to enjoy the shows that are performed.

God is good...all the time!!!

Say "Cheese"

This post is for all of the puppeteers who mention "cheese" during our rehearsals at random times and for random reasons. I read the following news "blip" in the Jan./Feb. 2008 IYF Magazine and just had to pass it along to you.

The title is: U.S. Prez Turns to Cheese
Four of American's greatest presidents have been immortalized in stone at Mount Rushmore. But, now, an artist has conveyed their greatness in a slightly different medium: cheese.

Since he was 12, Troy Landwehr, has combined his love for cheese with his talent in sculpting to create great art -- or at least edible art. Recently, Troy was commissioned to carve Mount Rushmore out of 700 pounds of cheddar -- again!! That's right, this is his second monument to great leaders and great cheese. Some people might think the idea is so cheesy it's bad, but IYF thinks it is very Gouda.

Let's hear your thoughts...
1) Who do you think commissioned Troy to sculpt this monument - and more
importantly - why?
2) What happened to the sculpture after its completion?
3) If you had Troy's abilities -- what would you sculpt out of cheese? Why?

Introduction

Hello, Hello! I am so excited to have our own site for communicating. I would like for this site to be a place where our puppet team can share thoughts, feelings, ideas, concerns and questions. I also hope that it will be able to keep everyone up to date on scheduling and information. As I become more skilled with programming this site, I will add some video clips that are fun and inspirational as well as educational. I am going to sign off now and let this be it for my first official blog! Woo Hoo!

In Christ,
Lynn
